Tags, or keywords, allow users to describe / categorize a specific bookmark for easy filing and finding later. Tagging is a form of taxonomy and is a non-hierarchical keyword or term describing to a piece of information (such as a website link, photo, or file on a computer). Social Bookmarking Websites allow all users to tag websites as they see fit and this collection of tags is known as a folksonomy.
Social Bookmarking is slowly becoming common place as web surfers are flooded with new websites and media such as videos, pictures, and music. Social Bookmarking Websites provide convenience for users that want to store their bookmarks but don't want to be tied to viewing their bookmarking on one computer.
